Changing Lives Through Sport
Engaging over 6,000 young people each year in its education, health, disability, social inclusion and football programmes, Fulham FC Foundation is certainly achieving its aim of ‘building better lives through sport’. It was fantastic to join many of these inspiring young people as well as the Foundation’s team to celebrate their hard work, which leads to increased participation in sport, an improvement in the well-being of participants and contributes to a reduction in youth crime and anti-social behaviour.
We were moved to hear about the impact the club’s employability and sports leadership programmes have had on the lives of those who spoke about their experiences. The club’s work with young offenders is especially remarkable. Sadly the national reoffending rate for young offenders is typically 85 per cent. Demonstrating the real impact of its programmes, only two per cent of young offenders who’ve received support from Fulham FC Foundation have reoffended.
At Mitre we’re incredibly proud to work with the amazing team from Fulham FC Foundation to fund, design and teach a number of its programmes. We know the club’s work in the community will continue to go from strength to strength and have a huge impact on those within its community.
We’d love to hear from you.
