A New Start in Sport
Some 150 qualifications have now been delivered free of charge by the Mitre team to unemployed people in the Midlands who are seeking a fresh start through sport.
Working with organisations like Sport 4 Life, Start Again Project, Street Leagues and Leicestershire and Rutland FA, Mitre runs sports and employability programmes for unemployed people aged from 16 to 60, many of whom have faced challenges in life. Many of those who have taken part in the programme also have disabilities. By tailoring the courses to suit the needs of all students, Mitre has been able to ensure that anyone can take part, benefit and improve their skills.
The varied programme of courses includes an Introduction to Sport as well as Sports Leaders and FA coaching qualifications. The success rate of these schemes has been exceptional with many students going on to secure employment opportunities and others choosing to progress on to Mitre’s new suite of sports qualifications, such as the Extended Certificate in Fitness, Nutrition and Leadership in Sport.
We’d love to hear from you.
