Our History

Mitre Group was established in 1992, specialising in outdoor leadership, management and team development programmes for corporate clients across Europe and the USA.

A decade later we entered the funding arena for accredited training. As a registered and approved national training provider on the governments Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers and Register of Training Organisations, we are able to access funding for a range of accredited programmes including Apprenticeships and Vocational qualifications. This funding is accessed from the Government’s Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) and/or the European Social Fund (ESF).

Throughout the late 2000's we continued to expand our portfolio and offerings to our clients. In 2009 we started to grow our work in the Sports and Stadia sector, an industry at the heart of Mitre’s roots as an outdoor education specialist. We also developed our specialist Community Education division, supporting a range of charitable foundations and youth work organisations, identifying alternative education routes into employment using the power of sport to engage with some of the most disadvantaged and disengaged individuals within our communities. Our specialist workforce development division continued to thrive, with leading programmes in areas such as spectator safety, customer service excellence and leadership and management.

Today Mitre is a leading provider for the sports sector, providing expert education, training and consultancy across Apprenticeships, community education for the unemployed, and specialist spectator safety, customer service, leadership and management development. We provide these programmes for many of the country’s leading organisations across Football, Cricket and Rugby, including Premier League and Football League Clubs, County Cricket Clubs, Rugby League Clubs, Community Trusts, Foundations and Youth Work Charities.
