THE SPECTATOR SAFETY AT EVENTS 'TOOLBOX'
EMERGENCY FIRST AID IN THE WORKPLACE
LEVEL 3 AWARD
As a requirement within the stewarding industry, the toolbox contains a mandatory qualification in first aid. As a Level 3 qualification, candidates will gain an enhanced understanding of emergency first aid in advance of the requirements within the Level 2 Spectator Safety Certificate.
This programme is delivered over a full day, in person. Candidates will need to travel to a designated venue to work with our qualified Mitre Tutor on this element of the toolbox.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS FOR STEWARDING AND SPECTATOR SAFETY
LEVEL 2 CERTIFICATE
The main element of the toolbox is to prepare candidates for employment in the stewarding industry and as such, on successful completion candidates will gain certificates in Essential Skills for Stewarding, as well as an accredited Level 2 Certificate in Spectator Safety with Highfield. This certificate is the minimum requirement for Stewards to work at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
These programmes will be delivered through a mix of online training with a Mitre Tutor, as well as face to face delivery. The assessment for this qualification involves 2 working observations where candidates will be assessed whilst carrying out duties as a Steward at an event.
SKILLS FOR EMPLOYABILITY
To assist candidates with gaining employment, the toolbox also involves a mandatory certificate in employability skills. This will contain useful tips on gaining employment including interview advice, CV writing, communication and personal development techniques.
This programme is delivered online with Mitre Tutor and will be completed over 2 x 2 hour training sessions.
