We offer a number of teaching and assessor courses suitable for individuals looking to train and assess adult learners across a range of qualifications:
Level 3 Award in Education and Training (formerly known as PTLLS)
This is an introductory, knowledge-based teaching qualification, designed for candidates who would like to work or currently work with adults. There are no minimum teaching practice requirement, therefore, it may be undertaken by individuals who are not currently in a teaching role.There is a minimum requirement to take part in micro-teaching during the course. Topics include the teaching role and responsibilities in education and training, ways to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment, the relationships between teachers and other professionals in education and training, inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training and ways to create an inclusive teaching and learning environment.
Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (formerly known as CTLLS)
The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training is a teaching qualification that will give candidates a fundamental understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a teacher/trainer. The qualification is designed to prepare trainee teachers to teach in a wide range of contexts. It requires observation and assessment of practice and the range of optional units available provide opportunities to contextualise the qualification for different learning environments. Topics include legislation, equality, diversity, inclusivity and meeting the needs of learners. The programme includes the use of initial and diagnostic assessments and requires candidates to plan and deliver inclusive teaching and learning, carry out assessments and use resources effectively.
Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (formerly known as A1/D32/D33)
The Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement qualification enables candidates to become a qualified assessor. It is intended for those who assess both occupational competence in the work environment and vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in a workshop, classroom or other training environment. This is a transferable qualification to any sector that the candidate has occupational competence in.
