UNDERSTANDING STEWARDING AT EVENTS
The Level 2 Award in Understanding Stewarding at Events is the starting point in any budding steward or Safety Officers career. This qualification is designed to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding needed to get into the spectator safety sector. It is specifically suited to volunteers at spectator events supporting more experienced staff, providing the theoretical grounding to becoming a steward.
Upon completion of the award the learner meets the requirements at section 4.10 b of the Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds, "Green Guide".
In order to complete paid stewarding work, the learner should undertake further training and assessment of competence to obtain the Level 2 Certificate in Spectator Safety. It covers how to prepare for events, assist with the movement of spectator, deal with crowd issues, manage and resolve conflicts, deal with incidents at spectator events and support the work of the team and organisation.

How long will it take?
The total qualification time for this award is 110 hours, of which 36 are recommended as guided learning hours.
